Business Developer

StemX Bio is an early-stage biotech at Leiden Bio Science Park. We grow 3D human pancreatic microtissues that give drug developers a human-relevant model for drug discovery and gene therapy validation. Our customers are pharma and biotech companies and CROs. The science works and the interest is there. We are looking for a Business Developer to help us grow the commercial side, from first outreach to signed pilot projects, while also digging into market research and helping shape our business. Real responsibility early, with close coaching from an experienced commercial team.

You join a small, close team of scientists and commercial people at Leiden Bio Science Park. The company was founded by two life-sciences experts: our CEO and our CSO, who invented the technology. On the commercial side you will work every day with our CEO, our Commercial Director, and a senior business developer, who will coach you and open doors. You sit close to the lab and the science you are selling, so you learn the product properly.

• Run market research and competitor analysis to sharpen our targeting and positioning
• Qualify and follow up on inbound and outbound leads across pharma, biotech, and CROs
• Run account research and outbound outreach against our target list
• Keep the CRM accurate and the pipeline moving
• Prepare proposals, quotes, and follow-ups for pilot studies
• Contribute to the business plan, commercial strategy, and financial forecasts
• Represent StemX at conferences and events: book meetings, prepare, and follow up after each one

• 1 to 3 years in a commercial, business development, or sales role. Life-sciences experience is a strong plus.
• A self-starter who enjoys outreach and following through
• Comfortable with market research and numbers, from competitor analysis to business planning and forecasting
• A completed degree, ideally a Master's (WO) in a life-sciences or business field
• A background or genuine interest in life sciences or biotech
• A confident communicator in English, comfortable with both scientists and buyers

Gross salary includs 8% Dutch holiday allowance, paid monthly. On top of the salary you get:

• 25 paid vacation days per year at full-time, above the Dutch statutory minimum of 20
• All Dutch public holidays as paid days off
• Commute reimbursement at €0.23 per km (up to 70 km one way), paid as a fixed monthly amount
• Hands-on mentoring from an experienced commercial team, and real room to grow into owning your own accounts

This role has real room to grow. You start by building and running the pipeline, and as you find your feet you can grow into owning your own accounts and shaping how we go to market. You learn the commercial side of biotech from people who have built it before, at a company moving from strong science into real commercial traction. Leiden Bio Science Park puts you in one of Europe's leading life-sciences hubs, with the events, people, and customers that come with it.

• You have the right to work in the Netherlands: EU/EEA/Swiss nationals, or a valid Dutch residence or work permit such as an orientation-year permit. We do not sponsor visas for this role.
• You can work on-site at Leiden Bio Science Park, with up to 1 day per week from home
• You can communicate confidently in English
• You have at least 1 year of commercial, business development, or sales experience
