Role Overview
You’ll be part of our R&D operations team, supporting next-generation recombinant protein projects. This is a coordination-focused role—no lab bench, but plenty of real-world impact. You’ll work at the intersection of science, data, and operations to ensure that every strain design, fermentation trial, and downstream report connects seamlessly across our partners.
About Your Tasks and Responsibilities
Your Key Responsibilities
-Plan and track each strain-engineering cycle (sequence versions, test runs, partner timelines).
-Collect and interpret microbial growth data frombatch, fed-batch, and continuous fermentations.
-Organize and summarize downstream-processing reports(filtration, centrifugation, chromatography).
-Coordinate with external labs and CDMOs for scheduling, sample logistics, and troubleshooting.
-Prepare clear technical briefs including vector maps, yields, buffer/media specs, and SOPs.
-Maintain a real-time tracker of milestones, upcoming tasks, and hand-offs.
-Translate complex data into concise internal updates and executive-ready summaries.
About Your Skills and Experience
Who You Are
-Currently in or recently completed a BSc/MSc in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Protein Engineering, or Synthetic Biology
-Familiar with E. coli strain engineering and basic molecular biology workflows
-Highly organized, reliable, and detail-driven
-Strong communicator who can turn complex science into clear, structured information
-Fluent in English and legally eligible to intern in the Netherlands (EU/EEA or valid permit)
